ACAOM Receives Renewal of USDE Recognition

In a letter dated July 23, 2013, the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) was officially notified by the United States Department of Education (USDE) of the renewal of the recognition of ACAOM.

This renewal represents the culmination of a two year process by ACAOM to demonstrate that ACAOM is in compliance with all of the relevant USDE regulations. Mark McKenzie, Executive Director, and William Goding, Technical Consultant, attended the June 2013 meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) to observe its vote to recommend the renewal of ACAOM’s recognition. Renewals are for a period of five years from the previous USDE action, which means that there are three years remaining in the current period of recognition.

ACAOM is most pleased that it has once again been recognized by USDE as a reliable authority regarding the quality of education or training offered by the institutions or programs it accredits.
